The Highland Literacy Project started as a small scale project in 2005 and has now mushroomed to become a major development across Highland schools. It is methodology based, focussing on the learning and teaching of all aspects of literacy and across all subject areas. It is inclusive and aims to engage pupils through active and collaborative learning.
It is relevant for today’s teacher and pupil and fully supports the principles of the new 21st century curriculum for Scotland.
